There is just something nostalgic and wonderful about Saturday morning cartoons.
When our own children were old enough to start enjoying this special treat, I was pretty disappointed in the so-called cartoons for “kids” that were available. They featured disrespectful children, words we don’t say in our house, and were not how I wanted my children to spend that time!
Then we happened to discover that our local NBC station aired Veggie Tales every Saturday morning – and there was much rejoicing! And because of this revelation, we also discovered a new show that the boys latched on to right away:
3-2-1 Penguins follows two children, Michelle and Jason, as they take wacky adventures with space penguins Fidgel, Midgel, Zidgel, and Kevin! Space penguins?! Of course the boys love this show! Big J likes the show because “Midgel is cool,” and Little J because “Kevin is funny.”
And I love 3-2-1 Penguins because each episode has a wonderful Scripture-based character lesson to go along with it! Another great product from the great minds at Big Idea!
Maybe your family is not the Saturday morning cartoon type – you’re on the go or your children sleep in {can your kiddos train mine?!} – so you’ve never been able to catch an episode of this great show. I have good news for you today!
3-2-1 Penguins: Complete Season One comes out on DVD tomorrow, Tuesday, September 18th! That’s right – a two-disc set of all 13 episodes plus lots of fun bonus features! And it’s a great deal at just $11.99 on Amazon!
I know your family will enjoy this quirky, character-building show as much as mine!
*I received a copy of this DVD to review from Big Idea. I was not compensated in any other way for this post, and all opinions are 100% my own!

When I first heard that this was coming out, I did a major happy dance! My guys don’t watch much VeggieTales anymore, but I KNOW they’ll watch 3-2-1 Penguins. This show is one of my favorites, for sure! And to get the entire season for only $12? Fantastic!
(sorry for all the exclamation marks; I’m just a *tad* excited about this.)
We love this show and sometimes watch it on TV when it’s on. I am telling the grandparents about this for Christmas, thanks!!
