I LOVE Christmas books for kids.

Really, I cannot get enough of them.

And even more so, when they are about the true meaning of Christmas.

That is why I adore Tommy Nelson – they are continuously putting out the most wonderful and engaging books for children, all with a heart for sharing the love of Christ.

And I am so proud to be a Tommy Mommy and get to tell you about their fabulous books…

Like A Christmas Prayer.

It is NEVER too early to be sharing the true meaning of Christmas with our little ones – this adorable board book (intended for ages 2-5) by Amy Parker is perfect for just that!

We have snuggled up several times with this book that follows as a little child give thanks for each of the characters in the family nativity set. The beautiful pictures and adorable rhymes are captivating.

And each page ends with “Thank you, God, for _______, Your precious Christmas gift.”

We used this as a jumping off point for talking about the people who are precious gifts in our lives.

Thank you, God, for Daddy, Your precious Christmas gift.

Thank you, God, for my brother, Your precious Christmas gift.

Thank you, God, for my children, Your precious Christmas gift.

I love moments like this – when our children are reminded that gifts are not just toys and games and books.

You can take a peek inside this sweet book here.
