and walked into this building for class…
when I started hearing rumors about something happening on the East Coast – New York, DC – nobody seemed to know what was actually going on. I didn’t really know what to believe until we were told that the news had been put up on the big screen in the recital hall. I walked in to see this…
And it all became real. Or as real as a picture like that can seem sitting in my recital hall seat in the Midwest.
There are no words to describe the range of emotions I’m sure all of us went through that day. But I know fear was at the top of my list. And continued to be for several days.
But just like the workers digging through the rubble, God was digging through my emotions and confusion and fear in the days that followed and this is what emerged…
A sign of hope. A sign of love. A reminder that He NEVER leaves us. He is ALWAYS with us.
And although things in our world have changed dramatically since that day, He will NEVER change.
When every little thing that I have dreamed would be
Just slips away like water through my hand
And when it seems the walls of my belief are crashing down
Like they’re all made of sand
I won’t let go of You now, because I know
You’re not shaken
I’m trembling in the darkness of my own fear
All the questions with no answers still grip me while I’m here
And I may never know why I may not understand
But I will lift up my eyes And trust this is Your plan
When I am in the valley of the shadow of death
You’re not shaken, You’re not shaken
You’re right here beside me and
You have never left
You’re not shaken, You’re not shaken.
