It’s a day that brings great joy to our house: the day a new Veggie Tales DVD arrives in the mail!

This brand new DVD, available this week, has me extra excited for two reasons:

1. Scottish accents
2. A lesson from my favorite chapter of the Bible!

The release of MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle was cause for celebration, so we invited a few friends over and had a Veggie Tales Movie Night…at 10:00 in the morning!

Anybody knows that a good movie party has to have popcorn! We put them in some fun Veggie Tales Movie Night popcorn cones and settled in for the show!

MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle is a lesson in getting along with others and appreciating our God-given differences. MacLarry lives in a world where his Scottish people, led by his father Chog Norrious {Veggie Tales always cracks me up with their names} are in a prank war with Pompus Maximus and the Romans! But MacLarry isn’t skilled in the same ways as his father and the other Barber-barians. His talents as an inventor aren’t appreciated until the Barber-barians realize that we all have different gifts and they are all useful, even in winning a prank war!

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. ~Romans 12:4-6

This lesson from Romans 12 is one of my favorites and I was thrilled that Veggie Tales took it on in such a fun way! The kids all gave it two thumbs up as well!

We followed up the movie with some cheesy snacks – nothing fancy, but right on for these kiddos’ appetites!

The fabulous Veggie Tales people have put together a super fun activity pack to go with MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle! We had coloring pages, word searches, mazes, and more to do after we watched the movie! The activity pack also includes singalong pages for each song in MacLarry, cheesy recipes to snack on, and other activities to do at your party! Little J had a blast telling the “Cheesy Jokes” to his friends after the movie!
