I have admired from afar the hand-stamped jewelry from The Rusted Chain for quite a while now.
But when I saw this piece, I had to break my silence…
No, I am not a gardener at all.
But I am a planter of seeds. And so are all parents. Especially moms.
Really, all of us can be planters of seeds in others lives, but this weekend, I’m particularly thankful for the seeds moms plant in their children’s hearts and lives.
( As a side note, you MUST read this post about why moms matter – NOW.)

When you shared this article this morning, it reminded me that we all are planting seeds and for a women like me that’s wants instant results, it was a reminder, it’s God’s job to grow them, not mine and as long I am planting he takes care of the rest. Such peace when you think about raising and being responsible for such little souls. Thank goodness God fills in the gaps!
My Mom was that for me, such an inspiration and over comer in so many ways, I am so thankful she planted such good seeds in my life as a young child.
My friend Chastity and her family – in middleschool and highschool continually planted seeds in my life. They were a great family to grow up around especially since my family was not practicing religion! Her folks took us to church!

I have long admired the work from The Rusted Chain! I love recognizing planting seeds in someone’s life. That necklace is adorable!! I would have to say my mom has definitely blessed my life with all the seeds she has planted. She is awesome!
I am already a follower of the Rusted Chain blog! 🙂
I would have to say my mom. She has done so much for me, planting seeds from my early child hood, teenage years and into an adult.
It was even more wonderful having her plant seeds into her 5 grandchildren! Iam so Blessed!!

My mom has planted many seeds in my life…now that I’m a mom…I’m seeing that more and more!
There are so many people who influence our lives. Mine came from not only my own mom, but teachers, professors, friends, and my own husband!
It’s amazing how much we take with us, I only hope that my boys will take all that I have and more!
I have been constantly influenced by my mother-in-law. As a mother of 6 boys she has such a wisdom about mothering and life in general! I pray that I can plant seeds in other’s lives as she has in mine!!

Love that! My mom was the main person who made sure I was raised in church. So thankful for the foundation…seeds…she planted that God has watered all these years.

What a beautiful necklace and sentiment. I have admired her work for a lot time too. My mom and dad always planted seeds, and I just talked with my mom the other day, and she was so sweet to say that even at my age, she sees how praying for her children continues and has truly blessed me. Isn’t that fantastic?

My mom planted incredible seeds in my life when I was little (and has continued as I’ve gotten older as well). She instilled such a value of God’s word in me. I am truly thankful!

So many people have planted seeds in my life…
I would have to begin with my mom. She has done MORE than anyone I know for both my sister and me, as well as so many others. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it was for her to raise 2 daughters, ALONE, for so long. That, in itself, deserves more praise than anything. 🙂 She has taught me how to be kind, respectful (we’ll just ignore those teenage years…ha), loving, generous, and so many more. But, above all else she instilled the gift of faith and believing in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She taught us that having a personal relationship with HIM was the MOST important one we could ever have. And for that, I’m ever grateful.
Seeds have also been planted in my life from some very special friends and they know who they are. I could seriously take up an entire PAGE of your blog if I keep writing. 🙂
Overall, seeds can be planted everywhere and by so many people. I believe that those BLESSINGS are what develop us as we grow from day-to-day.

There are so many women of God that have planted seeds in my life…women who take seriously the responsibility of the “older” women to teach the “younger” women. I am so thankful for not only my own mother, but my sister, my best friends Kathy and Lisa, and so many others!

so many seeds have been planted in my life… where do i start?
Just today I was upset with my 5 year old for sort of wrecking our dessert but seeds of grace have been planted in me through the Word and instead of being angry and not giving dessert to the little sneak (who also lied to me about it) I remembered Jesus on the cross and the truth that we must forgive so that we can be forgiven. And, more so, the truth that grace has been abundant when i have done so much worse than screw up a dessert. perspective changes everything, doesn’t it?
beautiful, precious grace…
My grandfather taught me the seed of acceptance >>>>
My mom planted more seeds in my life that I can count, but I want to share about someone who planted the seeds that have me pursuing my passion.
My writing mentor was Charles Mazer. He was a professor of English at the university I attended, and he was an amazing individual. He was compassionate and caring, but he was also honest. If he disagreed with you or didn’t like something you were doing, he would tell you. Mazer told me my writing was good. He actually wrote “first-rate” on one of my papers. I believed him because I knew him well enough to know that he really felt that way or he wouldn’t have written it.
Mazer is the reason why I continue to pursue my writing. He is the reason why I’m working on my writing and telling my story on my blog. I will always be grateful for his belief in me and for sharing it so openly with me.

The biggest “seed” planter in my life was by far my Mom. She has prayed over me, my entire life and encouraged me in everything i’ve done. I woud also have to say my friend Christine has played a huge role in my life since i moved to the States and is definitly at seed planter at heart. i love this necklace!! Thanks Erin!
I wish my mom had planted seeds in my life. I can’t name one person in particular who planted more in my life than anyone else, it was a culmination of people. However, now my husband is the only planter I have right now. He is my accountability partner (as much as I’d like someone female and not married to me to be my partner, I haven’t found anyone), my prayer buddy, my make-sure-I’m-reading-the-Bible person.
I do hope I’ve been the biggest seed planter in my own mom’s life. I’m praying one day she’ll receive Christ.

Seed planters. Well, my Mom, my Dad planted, tilled, and harvested seeds a plenty in my life as a child. So did Sunday School teachers, grandparents, and dear church family. Nowadays, my parents still plant seeds in my life, as does my husband, our new church family, and even my children.
my mom and dad planted seeds in my life. they taught me by example how to be kind and to love myself and others.

Ironically, my two year old son is the one who sows seeds of humor (“you’re really smart, mom” when he knows I am angry with him) or seeds of insight (pulling me away from a frustrating situation when he sees me starting to steam).
My Mother-in-law sows seeds daily into my life. You often hear of tense relationships between mother and daughter-in-laws. But my sweet dear mother-in-law seeks daily to affirm me as a mother and as her sons wife. Her only desire is to be a resource and constant source of encouragment. I hope to be like her when my boys are grown with families of their own.
My children have brought a lot to my life.
My best friend’s family is huge (9 kids) and I was always one of the ‘adopted’ kids to the crowd. (I am an only child.) I always have loved their family times and traditions – like Sunday after church they all eat together somewhere, no matter how many people are involved. Now that we are grown and have families the crowd can be incredible. I have always cherished their family and hope to bring the same feeling to mine.
My friend has planted seeds in my life by showing me the importance of kindness.
