Last year, at a MOPS meeting, one of our mentor moms mentioned this book…

Having done the Love Dare last year, I thought this sounded like a great idea for this year. So a few friends and I received the book from the author, Kathi Lipp, and set October as our month to start the project.

To take it one step further, we opened it up to our whole MOPS group and had over fifteen moms participating!

I didn’t mention this before on the old blog because, well…the hubby didn’t know I was doing it! And he actually reads the blog – isn’t he awesome?!

So this is the first he is hearing about it…with you…sorry honey!

The Love Dare and the Husband Project have the same goal but differ in a few ways:

#1 – Obviously, the Husband Project is just for wives.

#2 – The Love Dare is 40 days, while the Husband Project is 21 days.

#3 – The Husband Project has a lot more specific ideas and has some extra fun added in!

While some might take a look at the title of this book and be misled or offended, let me tell you it is NOT a book about “fixing” your husband in any way.

If anything, it is a project that changed ME me more than anything.

But it WILL change things about your relationship as well – in the very best kind of way!

The Husband Project has helped me work on putting my focus where I’ve longed for it to be – on serving and respecting my husband AND having fun with him along the way!

I love what Kathi shares about why she wrote the Husband Project:

When my husband and I got married, I was determined not to be like so many other couples who turned from romantics to roommates in a matter or months. But, like everyone else, we got back form the honeymoon and had kids and bills and home repairs waiting. It wasn’t long until I packed away the lingerie and was wearing sweats to bed.  I knew that if I wasn’t intentional about keeping my husband a priority, it would be easy to let him fall to the middle of my to-do list. I had to get desperate and creative – that is how The Husband Project was born.

So what are some of the projects?

A few of my faves:

Spreading Great Gossip About Your Guy: Say something nice about your husband to someone else. (How easy is this in the age of Facebook? Compliment and brag on him – don’t rag on him to others!)

Text or E-mail Some Sweet Nothings: Send a flirty text or e-mail to your husband.

Do Something He Enjoyed Before You Got Married: Initiate an activity that your husband used to love. Whether it’s his favorite hobby, sport, or pastime, it’s time for you to get involved – be his buddy today.

None of these sound that hard, but how often do you do any of them? The little things can make a BIG difference – for both of you!

The book is full of fun ideas and great motivation to get you started – inexpensive dates, recipes and much more! There are even some “bonus projects” – any guesses what those are about?! *wink wink*

And they say it only takes 21 days to form a habit – how about a habit of putting you husband before everyone else in your life?!
