Want to foster an attitude of gratitude in your children?
Practice the art of thank yous!
And these two adorable board books from Tommy Nelson are a great model to use…
Our children often thank God for mommy and daddy in their prayers, but is it just out of habit or do they actually have reasons behind their thanks?
Thank You, God, For Mommy and Thank You, God, For Daddy are wonderful resources for teaching your children to speak the reasons behind their thanks and make thanksgiving a natural part of their prayer time…
Thank You, God, for Daddy;
He scares monsters away.
When Daddy says, “Don’t be afraid,”
I know that it’s okay.
Plus, the illustrations are too cute for words! The boys loved the animals and the rhyming text. Big J and I took turn reading each page – perfect bed time reading!

I am a Tommy Mommy and received a copy of each book to review from Tommy Nelson. I did not receive any other form of compensation for this post and all opinions are 100% my own!
My favorite thing about the father of my children is…
that he’s there enough for them that my kids are growing up just like him! Read my list of how that’s happening here —> http://mommyslounge.wordpress.com/2011/06/09/ml2-a-tribute-to-dads/
My favorite thing about the father of my children is that I can’t pick one favorite thing. He is a wonderful husband and father. While many men are proud that they spend one evening a week doing something fun with their kids, not a day goes by that my husband doesn’t spend time playing with our kids.
My favorite thing about the father of my children is that he plays with my sons in their Thomas tent every night before they go to bed. It makes their day and gives them something to look forward to after finishing their milk! I got in there tonight and it was HOT and sweaty smelling! I’ve never been in it before with 2 other people, so I was impressed that he sticks it out every night for about 10 minutes. 🙂 He also reads a Bible story to them every night which they love. He’s a great daddy!
My favorite thing about the father of my children is that he fixes breakfast every single day for the family before he leaves for work so I can have some time with God. Kids love their mornings with Daddy. We love him so much!
My favorite thing about the father of my children is that he knows the importance of taking the boys out one-on-one with him. Even if it’s just a Saturday morning donut run, or a trip to the park (just with Daddy), it brightens my son’s days when it’s their turn to go out with Daddy.
My favorite thing about the father of my children is how he plays with them. I enjoy playing with them too…but there’s just something different about how daddy wrestles with them. Their laughter as they play together is one of my favorite sounds!
These are super cute! 🙂 Love your blog! 🙂 Erin

My favorite thing about the father of my children is the way he loves their mama.
My favorite thing about the father of my child, is that he prays for my daughter every day. That means so much to me to know that she is being blessed by his prayers. I can’t express how much it means to a mommas heart to hear her husband praying for her child.
My favorite thing about the father of my children is the way he loves Jesus and lives out his faith daily in front of our sons. He prays for them faithfully and is always looking for that moment to show them Jesus.
