Such a small boy.
But put on that bicycle helmet and, all of the sudden, years have passed and he is no longer my small boy, but a big kid.
On a big boy bike.
Riding down the sidewalk.
And talking my head off as we go. Both of us loving every minute.
Beautiful, bittersweet moments as he grows up before my eyes.
But not too fast. He still needs my help to get back up the hill.
I’m joining Tuesdays Unwrapped over at Chatting at the Sky to celebrate the beauty of the small moments in life.
What caused you to stop and smile this week?
What a special moment for you two – thanks for sharing, and with such great photos too! I have 4 kiddos and every time one of them does something like this it almost takes my breath away. Isn’t it amazing that we can be there for the start of skills we take for granted as adults? Thanks for taking the time to share one of yours!

I couldn’t believe how emotional I got about it! It IS an amazing thing to be a part of!
Thank you for stopping by Laurie!
We need to move to the big girl bike without the training wheels soon. i think I will wait for Daddy to move here before we try that one though. Love the pics. Today we spent time playing at the park in the rain. It was a wonderful moment.
Ack! You’re right – he looks huge on that bike. Make him stop it please.
That is so sweet! I can’t wait until we get to teach our boys to ride their bikes. 😀
I had a similar moment with my youngest yesterday as he was playing in his room. They grow up way too fast!! 🙁
I think we all need pause buttons.
oh, he is sweet: so little and so big all at once. good on ya for treasuring these moments.
Just wait for him to lose his training wheels. That day will make you tear up as well. It always does for me, and it has been three times so far.

It seems that every day is a series of our children growing up. If only we could press the pause button. I have 7 year old but also a 15 year old. So I know how quickly it all passes by. Enjoy every moment.
