Hello fellow boy mamas and welcome from the Boy Mom BlogHop 2012! So glad you popped your head in over here at our home!
Let me tell you a little bit about my life at home with the boys…
I am Erin…
daughter of the King, wife of a doctor, mother to three boys, homeschool teacher, lover of creating with my hands {cooking, crafting, crocheting}, HUGE sports fan {especially football!}, and extrovert extraordinaire!
The Hubby and I have been married for nine years…
Here we are in May the day we moved out of our first house. The Hubby is a first year internal medicine resident, so we are adjusting to life as a doctor’s family now! I am incredibly proud of him! He is my best friend, a wonderful dad to our boys, and a hottie 🙂
These are our peeps…I mean precious boys 🙂
Little J is four, Double J is four months, and Big J is six!
Oh my, the energy that comes along with three boys! Being a boy mom is like nothing I ever imagined, but also completely wonderful and stretching for me!
Big J is loving and compassionate, and a firstborn natural leader. Little J is fearless and hilarious. Double J is so happy and starting to roll all over the place. And all three seem to be very strong-willed. No idea where that came from…
The MOB Society idea originated right here at Home with the Boys back in April of 2010! My dear friend Brooke and I connected through those origins and started the site and community together. God has taken it from there and done INCREDIBLE things! I feel so encouraged by the writers and readers every day!
This blog is about a little of everything – faith, family, fun, food, fashion, homeschool, and more! I’m passionate about homemaking as my job. I’m trying to pray more for my boys. We’re starting our second year of homeschool this year {even though as a former public school music teacher I said I would NEVER homeschool!}. I love sharing about resources we love and even have some fun giveaways now and then! You can subscribe by email here to get these posts sent right to your inbox!
And speaking of sharing things we love, the boys are big game fans so we have quite a few around the house!
Here are some of our favorite games…
*Rush Hour Jr. – Recommended for 6-8 year olds, even Little J enjoys trying this logic game where you must move cars backward and forward ONLY to try to get the ice cream truck out of a rush hour traffic jam! Includes 40 cards with challenges of varying difficulty.
*Alphabet, Math, and Spanish Bingo Games – These were in the Target dollar aisle and the boys ask to play them daily!
*Star Wars Trouble – Trouble + Star Wars = BIG hit with our boys. The little R2D2 in the pop bubble even makes little robot noises!
*Ring Toss or Bean Bag Toss – The boys are loving these outdoor games and you can get them fairly inexpensively at Target!
*Hisss Card Game – Color matching and snake building make this a great game for boys 3 and up! Complete a snake with a head and tail and you win those cards!
*Sponge Ball Fights – A GREAT alternative to water balloon fights because there are NO pieces to pick up and not balloons to fill with water!
Thanks so much for stopping by our little home! I look forward to connecting with more boy moms and hope you’ll come back again soon!
I am not a boy mom, but one day my little girls will marry some boys 🙂 So glad we have connected through your wonderful blog and I look forward to knowing you more! Have a great day!
You are such a dear to me Kate! I love following your girl world from my boy land!
Hiya! I am recently introducing boardgames to my 4 yr old boy, and he is getting the “hang” of rules and such! Rush Hour Jr looks good!
I’d love connecting with other boy moms (we go through some things girl moms will not understand… like dirt and dinosaurs… haha!) and thank YOU for MOB! 🙂
P.S. that pic of Double J… too cute!!!
So nice to meet you! Your boys will love Rush Hour and they can play it for years to come!
Good Evening from Scotland, and thanks for starting up this Boy Mums blog hop!
I used to be a music teacher too before having my boys! Your boys are so cute.
Yay for music teachers! And can I please come visit you in Scotland?! We were in Ireland 12 years ago and I would just love to go back to that whole area, including Scotland, someday! Thanks for saying hi! Glad to meet you!
I agree with the others…thanks for the MOB and the Boy Mom Blog Hop! I love seeing the pictures of your little men as I’ve been a follower for a while. You have so many great ideas for parenting boys!

Hi Jessica! Thanks for stopping by! Nice to meet you as well!
Thankful for the MOB Society and the Mom blog hop! Your boys are adorable! I’m a homeschooling mama of 3 boys also (6 yrs, 4 yrs, and 6 months:) We’re also in process of adopting from Ethiopia, we’ll find out this year… boy #4 or a girl?? I’m crazy about my boys, cooking for my little men, and raising them up in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Thankful for this blessed life! Look forward to learning and growing “alongside” other MOBs!
Nice to meet you! Our boys are pretty much the same age! How cool! Praying for your adoption process!
