Today is one of those random posts where I just kind of throw everything that has been going on in our lives lately at you all at once…
Ready?!
*We’ve finished four weeks of homeschool! It has definitely had its up and downs, but I do feel like we’re starting to find a bit of a groove. I’ll be posting next Friday over at The Homeschool Village with the diary of our first month – the good and the bad!
*The hubby and I had an AWESOME date night Saturday – Noodles & Co., mini-golf and ice cream/smoothies & video games at McDonalds to finish out the night! We had wonderful conversation and laughed a lot.
You know what the key to great conversation on a date is for me? Leaving the electronic communication devices at home! I actually don’t even have my phone with me – we leave it with the babysitter because we don’t have a house phone. No distractions = focused conversation with my honey, and with two little boys, that time is rare!
*As I write this, we have a sick Little J, throwing up over and over again and just wanting to go to sleep. Such a trooper – no whining or crying, he justs wants his own bed. Not a fun way to end the weekend. Praying it passes quickly…
And in the middle of sickness, still so much to be grateful for…
601. Pixar marathon on TV to distract the sick boy.
602. Hearing my guys all play basketball together in the basement – lots and lots of giggles!
603. The hubby doing dishes and cleaning up from dinner while I take care of the sick one.
604. A yummy new sandwich on date night.
605. Cooler evenings.
606. Excitement over a new project for homeschool this week!
607. My sister and her hubby celebrating their first anniversary!
608. A hubby who encourages me to write, even when I don’t feel like it.
609. Grace from forgiving friends.
610. First trimester exhaustion starting to go away?!
611. These AMAZING cookies – chocolate, peanut butter and PRETZELS!
612. The delights of Pinterest – my happy place! {Are you on there? You can find me here!}
613. Stealing a few kisses between mini-golf holes 🙂
614. A church with a GREAT sense of humor.
615. A menu plan for September made BEFORE September is here!
616. Friends lending cute maternity clothes – I am set!
617. Combining art and science lessons {clay model of Stonehenge!}.
618. Biblical motivation: “Who can find a wife with a strong character? She is worth far more than jewels. Her husband trusts her with all his heart, and he does not lack anything good.” ~Proverbs 31:10-11 {GWT}
619. Excitement for the first night of Wednesday night church activities!
620. Comments from each of you – seriously, they always make me smile! Thank you!
We had sick kids this week, too. Now everyone is better (mostly). Just in time to enjoy our last week before school.
I’m glad your morning sickness seems to be passing. 🙂
I am in post-camp catch up mode… that includes reading the last 3 months of your blog. Expect comments. 🙂
and, I love you guys. You 4 (errm, 5!) make me so happy. I love knowing you and being able to look up to you as a married couple.
Praying the sickness passes and does not spread! Hooray for date night! What a fun time! I am so writing that verse down, not sure I have seen that version of it! Have a great Monday!!
What a fun list! I love the Stonehenge activity! Pinterest is wonderful but addicting:) And I’ve got to try #611. Thanks for sharing your list!
Such a lovely list that I too am thankful for…..Pinterest, movies when kids are sick, hubby doing dishes 🙂
Your date night inspired me to be sure to do something fun when the hubby and I head out next time. I am thinking bowling or something.
Mmmm, those cookies look good! What kind of clay did you use? That looks like it wouldn’t be messy.
I hope the sickness passes quickly, in fact, I hope it’s already gone!
We love Pixar, too.
Loves those T-shirts! My Dad’s heart is for the Royal Ranger boys! He breathes that ministry! 😉
