I saw this beautiful print on Instagram one day, framed in someone else’s dining or living room area, and I fell in love. I had to have it, not just for its beauty, but also for its message.

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts. Acts 2:46

Hospitality has been stirring in my heart for months now. Before we moved, I used to love have people in our home, no matter how small it was or how crowded we were. Then a third baby, a move to another city, and residency happened and well, opening my home didn’t happen as much.

My heart is yearning for a new season of opening my heart and home to friends and family. I don’t know what that physically looks like because I’m focusing on the heart right now. God is using the current She Reads Truth study to do a WORK in me regarding the heart of hospitality before I take the steps to act on it. I’m so thankful.

And it turns out that beautiful print was not a print at all. It was a tea towel that had been framed and that tea towel was from Mary & Martha, a part of the DaySpring family focused on beautiful items that promote the true heart of hospitality in our homes!

I pretty much love everything on their site, but this tea towel is the one item that won my heart. Instead of framing mine, I stretched it over a 20×24 canvas and put it up above the cabinets in my kitchen, the place where we all spend most of our time! I wanted Acts 2:46 in that space not only as a reminder of the hospitality God invites us to extend, but also as a call to myself to serve my own family and enjoy fellowship as much with them as I would with any guests in our home.
