This week we celebrated one year since our baby boy big boy was born.
Yesterday I ran 11 miles.
That is mind-blowing to me. The kind of thing that makes me know Philippians 4:13 is true:
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
I was never, ever a runner before. I struggled to even finish a mile in school. I actually HATED the thought of running.
Yet, here I am, strapping on my running shoes and tackling double-digit mileage. And loving it.
I’ve had many of you ask that I write more about my running/exercise journey, especially as a mom to young children. I am NO EXPERT by any means. I am not a trainer or a medical expert. I am just a “normal” mom. But I am totally willing to share my experience and what has worked for me! I just want to know what YOU want to know!
One of the things I’ve discovered over the past year is I LOVE encouraging other moms in their fitness journeys! I wish I could go to the gym or go for a run with each of you and tell you YOU CAN DO IT, but I’ll just have to do what I can to cheer you on, and maybe help you out a little bit, from right here!
So…
What do you want to know about my experience getting fit as a mom?
You can leave a comment here or email me at homewiththeboys at gmail dot com with your questions!
I will do my best to answer as many questions as I can in upcoming posts! {And let me know if you want your questions answered anonymously!}
Happy weekend!
Tell me more about #mamavation. Got your tweet on this and looked into their web-site & applied. Are you one? Or are you in the application phase like me? When do you run? I usually do twice a week early morning runs at 6 a.m. with friends. I do not like running alone. I also hate the treadmill so we sold ours. Outdoors for me please! Do you cross train? I’m into yoga once every couple of weeks. Would love to do more but hard to fit it in!
How did you get started? When do you run? Where? What kind of shoes are those? Cute!
I am a single mom of three boys, I work full time and go to school part time. I want to know how you find the time and motivation to get up and go. When I have a little free time I just want to relax and watch a little tv or catch up on my emails. Lol. I guess I want to know how do you just get up and go. I enjoy a good work out or running, I just don’t seem to find the time, and I almost hate it. (Maybe not enough yet) Thank you for your response, it’s appreciate it 🙂
PS I enjoy reading your blogs!! Keep it up!!
I’m so glad I found this blog. I have this burning feeling that God is calling me to run. I’m hitting a wall right now in my fitness routine. I would love to hear from you what you journey was to becoming a “real” runner. I was that kid in gym gasping to finish the mile and hating it so much. Now I’m wanting to try it. Thanks so much.
That was me, too, Shalyn! I will be getting my running journey story up soon! Thanks for coming by!
I just started my journey, I started vlogging about it. That helps me to be accountable and encouraged. We started running 2 miles to start, would love to run that long, one day.
Blessings,
Adrienne
