Oh my friends, today is an exciting day!
Today, the blog tour to celebrate the brand new Seeds Family Worship album, Seeds of Character, stops here at Home with the Boys!
Seeds is my FAVORITE way to get the Word of God into the hearts of our family – not just the kids, but the adults too! I have memorized more Scripture through Seeds than any other way!
Seeds of Character is exciting because it sets out to counteract what culture calls “character” and put it in a Biblical perspective – the process of God growing character in us, not us relying on ourselves to get it right. Amen! All of the songs fit into one of these parts of that process:
Part 1: THE FOUNDATION
Jesus is the foundation of character–He is the “Good News.” Our sin is the “Bad News” and makes us dependent upon Christ if we are to develop His character.
Part 2: THE BRIDGE TO CHARACTER
Parents provide the bridge–teaching their children the foundations of character and modeling the character of Christ.
Part 3: THE PICTURE OF GODLY CHARACTER
The last portion of the album focuses on several key indicators of godly character – love, humility, obedience, honor, and thankfulness.
Check out the verses featured on volume 6:
- More Than Conquerors (Romans 8:37)
- The Wages and The Gift (Romans 3:23 & 6:23)
- The Life (John 14:6, I John 5:11-12)
- The Fruit (Galatians 5:16 & 22)
- Delight (Psalm 1)
- Teach Them (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)
- The Perfect Example (John 13:12-17)
- Children and Fathers (Ephesians 6:1-4)
- Put On Love (Colossians 3:12 & 14a)
- The Character Song (Romans 5:1-5)
- Give Thanks (Psalm 105:1-5)
- The Only Way (The New Testament Song)
Godly character – there is not much more important than that to teach our children.
And speaking of teaching, I am so pleased to share this exclusive video from Seeds founder, Jason Houser, debuting “Teach Them,” the song from Volume 6 based on Deuteronomy 6:4-7. These verses are my life blood as a parent right now…

I love this concept & would live to win. Romans 8:37 would be great to learn w/ my children
{don’t enter me!}
You know I love this…especially b/c this verse is my Impress Your Kids verse! I’m imagining they are singing it in the NIV so they will be singing the name of my blog! *wink*
Galatians 5:16 & 22 – I need this continually in front of me, and if my children learn this early, hopefully they will work towards the fruit of the Spirit by letting the Spirit work in their lives!
I’m glad to be introduced to your blog–I’ve seen your Youtube vids-very cool. We have 4 kids-a girl and 3 boys-11, 6, 4, and 16 months, and my hubby is a gen. surgeon. (We have some things in common!) We absolutely love Seeds Family Worship! Thanks for hosting them.
John 14:6! I love that these are in ESV now. 🙂
Romans 3:23 & 6:23, from The Wages and The Gift song. What a great way to help memorize part of the gospel message!!!
Honestly, I can’t wait for all of the verses. Tristan is getting so good at memorizing verses if we just continue to go over them. He has our whole other Seeds CD memorized and I’d love to give him some more to work with.
Cant wait for my kids to memorize Galatians 5:16-22!
I think we will begin to learn 1 Peter 1:3-5! of course there are a lot of other wonderful verses I want us to learn! 🙂
All the scripture looks great, but I can’t wait to learn Romans 3:23 & 6:23 with my kids.
i think Romans 8:37 would be a great one for our family to learn! thanks, erin!
The Fruit Song – Galatians 5:16, 22
I would start with the fruit song-galations 5:16,22 but love all of them This is such a great idea
Tried to use the code with vol 6 and it wouldn’t work : (
This is wonderful. Would love to learn more than conquerors!
Galatians 5:16& 22 is my choice…but I can’t wait to learn them all with my kids.
We love Seeds! We’d learn Galatians 5:16 & 22 first.
Ephesians 6:1-4 sounds great!!
I would love to memorize The Fruit (Galatians 5:16 & 22) with my kids. Get it into their hearts and souls so they can just think about how to behave and what they should be exhibiting.
Fruit of the Spirit- Gal 5:16, 22
Pick me! Psalm 105
Oh we LOVE the other 5 albums they’ve put out. This one is definitely on our “want” list, so I really hope we win a copy!
Track 3 & 4 are the ones I’m most excited to work on with our girls.
Put on Love (Colossians 3:12 &14)
I would so love, love, love to win!
Romans 8:37 – MORE than conquerors. Conquering is one thing and is victorious, MORE than conquerors, now that’s just something else altogether!
I can’t wait for all of these! But I’d especially love my boys to memorize Psalm 1.

I am SO excited about this giveaway. A friend JUST mentioned Seeds to me yesterday and I’ve been wanting to learn more. We have a few different Bible verse memory song collections and I’m always so eager to add to it because of all the things I’m planting daily, the one thing that matters most to me is God’s Word. Thank you oodles for featuring this ministry & giveaway!!!
Can’t wait to teach my kids, “Put on Love”!
Romans 3:23 & 6:23. The truths of salvation in Christ Jesus are important verses to memorize!
Deut 6:4-7!
I hopped over here from Sweatpant Couture…what a great giveaway! My oldest (4 yrs) gets frustrated by rote memorization, so this would be an awesome tool for her. Hard to choose one verse…maybe Romans 3:23 and 6:23??
I’d love to learn them all, but I’ll choose Deuteronomy 6:4-7
For me it would be Put On Love (Colossians 3:12 & 14a)!
I am excited to listen to Romans 3:23 & 6:23 with my kids to instill the gospel message. 🙂
