We got the call Sunday morning as we were driving to church – my little sis was in labor and at the hospital!
The hubby thought it would be fun to just throw our stuff together and head up there without telling anyone, so we did just that!
We showed up at my parents’ house less than five hours later {surprised them first} and waited for any news, but no one ever told my sister or her husband we were in town.
We all went to bed still waiting – and then the phone call came at 12:30 a.m.
My newest niece was born at 11:17 p.m., just in time to be a New Year’s Day baby AND be born on her due date!
When my sister and I talked, I still made no mention of us being there – we were so sneaky! She called my parents and told them it was ok to come up to the hospital, so Mom and I bundled up and drove to the hospital at 2:00 a.m. to meet Miss M!
And then the surprise was complete – such fun to come into my sister’s room, see the look on her face, and give her a great big hug!
Then all attention went to this beautiful bundle of joy…
Oh my. Love at first sight! {Even if it was the middle of the night.}
Look at the gorgeous new family – so happy!
That face! Those lips! So adorable!
And so fun and wonderful and joyous to see my sister as a new mommy!
Of course, there were a couple of boys who were pretty excited about the arrival of their cousin as well…
Congratulations to my sister and brother-in-law!
Welcome to the world, Miss M! We are so glad you’re here!
Congratulations to you and your family!!! <3
