Sweet Sara Crewe has everything a little girl could want – a loving family, lots of friends, and a closet full of frilly dresses!  But when life takes a turn and Sara goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what she has in her heart?

That’s right! Veggie Tales just released a brand new DVD and it is adorable!

Now, I will admit, at first glance I thought, “The boys are NOT going to like a movie with princess in the title!”

But The Penniless Princess isn’t just for girls. While the main characters are girls, the message is important for every child to hear: You are royalty in God’s eyes!

It didn’t hurt that Sara’s dad is for an adventure as the story begins, which is exactly what caught the boys’ attention! However, their compassionate natures were drawn in when Sara learns of her father’s passing and at that point, it didn’t matter to them whether the main character was a boy or girl. I was really touched at how badly they felt for Sara and how they recognized the unfair situation she was placed in.

The Penniless Princess carries such an important lesson for our children to learn at a young age: no matter what your life looks like, you are important and special to God. The cute songs and of course, the vegetables, just make it all the more endearing!

Oh yeah, and there is a HILARIOUS silly song about the ridiculous language of texting. I died laughing. The boys didn’t quite get it yet 🙂

The Penniless Princess is now available online and in stores! You can get $3 off in the stores with this coupon!
