I have a lot of long distance friends. I am so thankful for phones and texting and social media to stay connected, but it’s hard when you want to celebrate or grieve or just be there with them through the ups and downs of life and it’s just too far.

Bringing over a freezer meal or watching a friend’s kids while she has a few hours to herself just aren’t always possible. That’s where I’ve found gift cards to be a great opportunity to bless a friend. The only problem is I usually don’t know much about the town they live in, so picking out a restaurant or nail salon they will like can be difficult.

I just discovered a great solution to this dilemma with gift cards and it’s called Giftly!

Ok, so here’s how Giftly works…

  • Give a Giftly via email, text, print out, or a high-quality greeting card in the mail.
  • The recipient chooses the most convenient way to receive the funds: as a credit to their own debit or credit card or as a payment to their PayPal account.
  • You suggested something you think they’d like, they share with you how they spent the money.
  • They always get what they want!

You can choose to gift someone dinner, a massage, a night at the movies, coffee, and so much more! And because you don’t specify WHERE they have to use their Giftly, they get to choose their favorite place to eat or go out or relax!

My favorite idea for using Giftly? Gifting dinner at any restaurant to friends for a date night! I think a lot of parents need a little kick in the pants to get out the door for some couple time, and not having to pay for dinner is a definite boost!

There is a $4 processing fee on the purchaser’s end, but when you can’t be there to help or bless a friend in a person, the extra $4 is worth it!

What kind of Giftly gift cards would you see yourself giving the most?
