We pray every day on the way to school. The boys share prayer requests and I pray. As he has gotten older, the youngest developed quite the long list of prayer requests he likes to share. This year, he added this prayer to his daily requests:
“That the boys and I would be good friends to others.”
I’m feeling the weight of the world this week with all the negativity and meanness floating around amongst adults, but when he shares that hope and prayer in his sweet four-year-old voice, I can’t help but feel lighter.
To be clear, I don’t think we have to be friends with everyone, but in his heart and mine is this plea to all of humanity:
JUST BE KIND.
That’s all I want. Disagree, stand up for your beliefs, defend your rights, but I beg you to do it in a civil manner and treat one another with kindness.
Just be kind. We can do this, friends.
