Saturday Seeds: Psalm 46:1-2

Welcome to Saturday Seeds ~ memorizing one Bible verse a week in 2011 with Seeds Family Worship!

Well, this post has been late for several weeks and then I finally got the time to put the video together and my iMovie kept freezing up!

So, instead of a vlog, you will get a blog post this week! Hopefully we’ll be on track next week!

Now on to our verses…

Psalm 46:1-2 is not a short set of verses to memorize, especially for a 5yo, but Seeds ALWAYS helps that!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

We’ve done lots of fun things to memorize verses along with the music, but you’ll never guess what Big J enjoyed most this time around…

We haven’t officially started homeschool yet, but we’re incorporating a few activities here and there, and handwriting practice is one of them.

I love the concept of using our memory verse of the week as handwriting practice – writing things down helps me remember them better and it can’t hurt for him either! We used this website to make the sheets for free and will be using it lots more throughout our homeschool journey!

Even if you’re not a homeschool family, your child could do this copywork before or after breakfast in the morning before they leave for school – great way to start the day!

If your child is not writing yet, they could watch you write it on the top of a blank piece of paper. Then he or she could add their own drawing to go with it!

Seeing and hearing the words to memory verses is just another way to hide the Word in their little hearts – and don’t forget to play some Seeds while you’re going about your day!
