How is it May already?! With less than two weeks of school left, I’m preparing for a summer of fun in the sun with the fam! Honestly, summer is my least favorite month as far as weather goes, but as the kids get older, it has become more fun to do outdoor things together! And with some of these sweet items, I’m actually getting a little excited for the warmer temps – what is happening to me?!
This summer promises to be our busiest yet, with the kids signed up for swim team, summer band, tennis, golf, church camp, and vet camp. I’m tired already! My summer faves have to keep up with this crazy schedule, so I’m looking for comfortable, durable, affordable, and, of course, cute! Here’s a few ideas to get your summer started in style…
Knockaround Sunglasses
I discovered Knockaround sunglasses through running friends about six months ago. SO many reasons to love them! The designs are super cute and they different styles to fit every face shape, including kids. My favorite styles are the Paso Robles (in this picture), the Mai Tais, and the Seventy-Nines! The colors are fun and the frames are both comfortable AND durable. Most of all – the price point is fantastic. Prices range from $15 to $30 and they’re always running great deals! In fact, if it’s your first order, just click on this link to get $10 off!
My new favorite shorts
I am super picky about shorts, so finding a pair I love at Target is like striking gold! Universal Threads is usually my go-to denim brand at Target, but these Wild Fable shorts are my new favorite! Longer length + high rise + destructed look = win in my book! And they’re only $19!
The perfect insulated cup
I’ve tried so many different insulated cups that I feel like a bit of an expert. I want my water to stay cold, the lid to seal, and for it to fit in my van’s cup holder. And I don’t want to spend a fortune. I stumbled upon Bubba cups at Walmart thanks to a gift from a friend and they were exactly what I was looking for! They come in several sizes, but I love the design of this 30 oz version on Amazon specifically for the sealed lid and cup-holder friendly shape! And GREEN – hello! Obviously, I love the color!
Sparkling Ice with Caffeine
Confession: I am not a La Croix lover. My sparkling water has to have more flavor than that! A little caffeine is always helpful, too. That’s why I’m totally crushing on Sparkling Ice with Caffeine! With zero sugar and amazing flavor, I was hooked after my first can. I’ve tried several flavors and Strawberry Citrus is still my fave, but they have all been yummy! Go ahead and buy it in a 12-pack because you’re going to be drinking it all summer! Keep it cold in your awesome Bubba cup, too!
A REALLY GREAT BOOK
Winter is a great time to curl up with a blanket and a great book, but summer might be my favorite time to read! Whether it is while catching some rays or escaping to the air conditioned inside, summer reading is delightful, especially when you have the perfect book. I have just the book for you and it JUST released today!
Katherine Reay is one of my all-time favorite authors, with books such as Dear Mr. Knightley and The Austen Escape. Her newest book, The Printed Letter Bookshop, takes on new depths exploring the lives of three very different women who are thrown together by the death of a loved one. The setting of a small town bookshop is lovely, but the relationships are compilcated and the characters go through such transformation throughout the story. If you haven’t read any of Reay’s books, start here and you’ll be hooked, adding several more great reads to your summer book list!
By the time I finished this post, I already thought of more summer things I’m excited to tell you about, but I’ll save those for another post! If you just can’t wait, check out my Amazon store where I’m constantly adding items I’ve bought and loved!
