Some of my favorite clothing items are from online shops + boutiques. I love the variety, the prices are usually great, and I end up with some wonderfully unique items I wouldn’t have found anywhere else!

Online boutiques are fun, but they can also be a little tricky. Items sell out fast and by the time I’ve shared a shirt I love with you, it’s already gone! Like this shirt from Layla’s Shop

Such a super fun shirt, mixing stripes and leopard print, but it’s already sold out! And that’s what can happen with these popular online boutiques.

Never fear! I have some tips today for successful shopping online and ways to score some great deals in the process!

Shopping Online Boutiques

Follow the boutiques on social media

Shops like Layla’s Shop and Evy’s Tree have struck social media gold by establishing a big following on Instagram. This is where they preview items, offer pre-sales, post flash sales, and more. If you want to be the first to know about a new item or a great sale, follow your favorite boutiques where they are active. If they post discount codes on Facebook occasionally, make sure you’re seeing their posts on Facebook! If they announce pre-order items on Instagram, follow them on Instagram! Social media has allowed me to snag some of my favorite items and the best sales – do your research and connect with your favorite shops online!

Take advantage of pre-orders

When Evy’s Tree announces a new hoodie for sale, it is usually a pre-order and available at a big discount during the pre-order period. That’s how I grabbed that Diana wrap I’m wearing in the picture above…and now it’s pretty much sold out. If you like the item when it is offered for pre-order, BUY IT. This almost always guarantees a lower price AND it guarantees you will actually get the item you want!

Grab it quick if you like it

I know I kind of mentioned this in the last point, but with online shops, if you like that shirt or necklace and it fits in your wardrobe, then grab it before it is gone! With online boutiques, most items are very limited and won’t be offered again once they sell out. Yes, you’re running the risk of something not fitting right and having to send it back because you are ordering online, but in my experience, these boutiques want to create loyal customers, so they will often do whatever they can to make sure you are happy with your experience.

My favorite online boutiques

I’m not sure if all of these technically call themselves “boutiques,” but they are definitely unique clothing shops that function in the manner I’ve outlined above – limited quantities of unique pieces, pre-orders, great sales, wonderful people. I’ve worked with the owners of many of these companies and own several items from them, so I feel confident in recommending them to you!

Your turn! Tell me about your favorite online boutiques and how you grab their best deals!
