Oh how I wish my camera and the internet would have worked better at The Relevant Conference this weekend…
But alas, they did not cooperate and here I am posting the last few days of “31 Days of All Things Woman” with fewer pictures than I would have hoped and much later than expected.
Oh well.
One of the comments I get the most on my “What I Wore” posts is about my accessories. You may notice that a lot of my clothing items are not very new – I’ve had them for a long time or they were handed down to me or I found them at a thrift store.
But “old” clothing can look brand new with the right accessories!
My favorite accessories?
Scarves, pins, belts, hats, and all kinds of jewelry!
I was blessed to have several lovely ladies send some jewelry with me to wear at the Relevant Conference this weekend…
First, a little Our Daily Chocolate…
Followed by some KraftyKash…
And finally some gorgeous Flawed Perfection Jewelry…
Well, you can’t see THAT jewelry very well in my pic with Sally Clarkson, but here is a better view…

I love the variety of handmade accessories available for us to buy these days – some simple and elegant, some full of meaning, some bold and funky!
What if you can’t afford to buy a lot of accessories?
First of all, I love finding handmade accessories and supporting the women who make them. But I also love the Kohl’s clearance jewelry racks – I almost never pay more than $5 for an item there. In fact, it is usually much less!
And how about making your own? There are SO many tutorials floating around the internet for using things you already have to make new accessories!
I taught myself to crochet in the past few years and now I have hats and pins and wrist warmers and scarves and so on to accessorize with! Yarn can be pretty cheap and I enjoy spending time being creative in this way!
Add some color, add some texture, be willing to take a little risk – have FUN with your accessories! It will feel like you have a whole new wardrobe!
What is YOUR favorite way to accessorize? Is there something you’ve been trying to work up the courage to try?!

Disclosure: I was provided accessories from each of the business mentioned above to wear at The Relevant Conference. I was not compensated in any other way for this post and all opinions are 100% my own!
I have tried to learn to crochet – I just can’t get the hang of it. But I did teach myself to make those cute birds’ nest with egg necklaces. I’m teaching it on Thursday for MOPS, so hopefully I can teach well. I thought it would be a good idea for gifts for Christmas if everyone learns to make them. And the stuff was cheap. I bought it all for our MOPS group for just over $20 at Joann’s.
I would like to learn to hand-stamp jewelry, too.
OOoooo, that Our Daily Chocolate ring is just gorgeous!! And I really like that KraftyKash necklace too!
I need to go do some “window” shopping … and bookmarking 😉
I’ve been trying to add in more accessories, too. When my kids were babies, it seemed too much in the way. But now that they are a bit bigger, it’s easier. I started beading a few years ago, and found that I can make things cheaper then they would be in the store, and I can make it more to my preferences.
