I noticed I have been wearing a lot of black lately. Oh yes, I usually add other colors to accent so it doesn’t look too drab, but still – too much black.
This week, my mission was to focus on COLOR! It was FUN!
Don’t be afraid of color, friends. Black may be slimming, but it can also be draining and aging – did you know that?!
I have been reading Good Girls Don’t Have to Dress Bad by Shari Braendel and I am learning SO much about dressing my body. I’ll be sharing more about her book and online ministry soon, but in the meantime, I took her suggestion for my skin tone, hair color and eye color and wore less black this week.
Then I had the opposite problem: I wore blue or teal FOUR days in a row. What?!
Oh well – at least those were colors Shari said would look good on me! What do YOU think?
What colors do you gravitate toward? Are they the same colors that make you look good? Do you know what colors make you look good?

You make casual look so pretty!! And I’m glad I’m not the only one that loves puffer vests…I have a green one my father bought me when I was in high school, and I still wear it all the time!!
Loving the outdoor shot ensemble! Plus you look all golden girl with your beautiful hair!
I know I need more color. I was pulling out clothes for Relevant and thought “where is the color???” 🙂 So we shall see where I find some!
Can’t wait! Next week!
You are adorable! I’m so glad you’re loving Shari’s book! It’s been a game changer for me!! Can’t wait to meet you next week!!
I love the red puffy jacket, All your looks are super cute!
love the red vest. That sounds like a great book!
You look great! I love the boyfriend sweater and the land’s end boots!
Blue looks great on you! I especially liked your next to last one pictured. it’s beautiful!
Most of my clothes are blue, green, or brown. If I shake things up, I add yellow. I do have some black, but I don’t like to wear it much. People tell me that purple looks amazing on me, but I hate the way it looks! The only other color that looks good is orange/rust. Which I don’t like, either. I think I may need to read that book to get some inspiration!
I have to say, I think blue is your color because it makes you alive and vibrant.
These outfits are adorable. I will have to go shopping now.
My favorite outfit is the 4th and 5th one down.. But i Love them all!
