I’m rolling right along reading through the Bible in 90 Days with Mom’s Toolbox!

Or maybe I should say trudging right along.

Because right now, we’re in the middle of Deuteronomy.

Yep, this week has been Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

I am one day behind, but happy and surprised that it is not more at this point!

And while there is a LOT of “stuff” to get through in these books in particular, some of my favorite verses are found in these books as well.

Don’t let anyone tell you that “nothing good happens in those boring books.”

The instruction and guidance I need the most right now comes from Deuteronomy.  It was written thousands of years ago, but it rings just as true today:

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. ~Deuteronomy 6:5-9

We have been pondering a “family mission statement” for a while now and as I read these words again, I knew this is exactly what we want to be about. Who needs to write a mission statement when God has already written it for us?!

Onward through Deuteronomy and then on to one of my favorite books coming up!

Are you reading along? How is it going for you?
