I AM STILL ON TRACK!!!!!
Ok, now that I have that excitement out of my system.
Yes, I am keeping up quite nicely with the Bible in 90 Days schedule (for more info, head to Mom’s Toolbox) and it is getting MUCH easier!
Especially when you’re reading beautiful stories like those of Ruth and Abigail, and the page-turner stories of Joshua, Samson and David.
Reading this much in a week makes it almost impossible to mention all of the verses that stuck with me – let’s just say I am doing a LOT of underlining as I go!
But I will share a few of my favorites from this past week with you:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. ~Joshua 1:9
Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” ~Joshua 3:5
Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. ~Joshua 21:45
The LORD said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place.” ~Judges 7:7
But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.” ~Ruth 1:16-17
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he worshiped the LORD there. ~1 Samuel 1:27-28
I particularly love all the stories of God using the “little people!”
Moving on through the Old Testament! How about you?
WOW! I am thrilled to read that you are right on track!
Keep it up! I am so glad you are reading with us and cannot wait to celebrate (virtually) with you when we finish in October. (In then in real life at Relevant!) Keep it up!!!
Congrats Erin! Keep up the good work.
I’m feeling very much the same way! Hallelujah! : )
It’s been interesting week of reading, hasn’t it? Some of my very favorite stories, but some pretty unfamiliar ones too. I’m with you on God using the “little people”! I commented on that in my update too, using the story of Samuel as a child to illustrate.
I especially love the last verse, 1 Samuel 1:27-28!
I pray to be that type of parent…giving my children back to the LORD! They are not mine, but on loan, from my Heavenly Father!
I love how you did your post for #B90days! Might be “imitating” (er, copying) how list out some of your favorite verses.
I am currently *so* far behind (in the reading as well as keeping up with the blogs) that I am seriously jealous. 🙂
Blessings.
