We love books in this house.
Just ask anyone who helped us move – several HEAVY boxes of books had to be loaded and unloaded from the moving truck. And that was even after we purged both our books and the children’s books!
One of my favorite sights involving our kiddos is this…
Anytime they are reading is a wonderful sight for me, but Big J reading to Little J just warms my heart. And it is even better when they are learning something important from the book.
Our family is really enjoying the new Hermie Level 2 readers from Tommy Nelson!
The latest one, God Listens When I Pray, is a fun and colorful story for children ages four to seven that teaches about prayer from a solid biblical perspective!
I can tell the boys love it because when I found them like this, I hadn’t ask them to read or told them to go get a book or anything!
Look at those smiles! LOVE! And we had a wonderful discussion about talking to God when they finished reading! I will take those opportunities anytime I can get them! Thanks Hermie!
You can take a peek at the book for yourself with this digital flipbook!

Are there specific verses you pray over your children or have taught them to pray directly from the Bible?

I received this book to review because I am a Tommy Mommy for Tommy Nelson! All opinions are 100% my own!
I use:
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
– 1 Corinthians 10:31
We’ve been using the Raising Rock Stars preschool curriculum over at 1+1+1=1 and my girls LOVE memorizing their verses for the week! Every night when we pray, we incorporate our verses into our prayers and the girls recite them. I’d love to win this book! Thanks for the giveaway!
We do not use specific verses in prayer but I think that we should start. Honestly, I never thought to do that with the little ones. Thank you, Erin, for the suggestion.
🙂 this book will be a great addition to “story time”
That sounds like a great book! I need to expand my Christian book collection for the kiddos!
I pray the life verses my hubs and I picked for them when they were tiny. Great suggestion to teach them to pray scripture. We do it on occasion but not as a daily thing.
We love Hermie! I have to say that I have never thought much about praying scripture over my kids until recently when I read Warrior Prayers. Or I guess I just thought it would be too hard or something :(. Since then I have really enjoyed the daily Warrior Prayers on fb and the Inspired to Action prayer calendar.
