I love dresses. All year round.
Spring…
Summer…
Fall…
Winter…
I love dresses because they really can be worn through every season if you accessorize them right! THAT is a huge budget-saver!
Let’s start with a dress I bought from Lands’ End Canvas in the middle of winter. It has lightweight jersey top, gathered waist and cotton skirt and I adore the bright color!
In the winter, this is how I wore it…
Gray boyfriend cardigan, pearls, chunky gray belt, black leggings and black riding boots.
This is comfy and warm enough for Nebraska winters!
Then it started to warm up just a bit…
So I stuck with the same belt and leggings, but added a denim jacket and silver ballet flats.
Springtime arrived…
I lost the jackets and cardigans, went with a brown belt, bronze flats and jeggings this time!
And now that summer is here…
Forget any pants under the dress! Summer is time for gladiator sandals and a fun flower pin!
I love the versatility of this dress – the year-round styling makes it a great investment!
Then there is my basic black tank dress from Target that cost a whopping $15. It recently lost a battle with grease stains {sad, sad day}, but before that, I had lost of fun adding pops of color to brighten it up!
Here it is with lilac and yellow…
And then denim, green and ivory…
Totally different outfits with the same basic foundation!
This spring, I took this dress…
And added skinny jeans and a cream cardigan to dress it down a bit.
This red dress can be a party dress…
or a church outfit…
with different jewelry, shoes and a jacket!
I can’t wait to take my most recent dress purchase {the $8 Target dress}…
And add leggings and a cardigan when the weather cools down!
If that ever happens…
There are lots of great “end-of-summer” sales going on right now – buy a few dresses at low prices and then have fun wearing them different ways as the seasons change!

Oh my goodness! You put together the cutest outfits. I like the black dress with the lilac best, i think. But really, they are all neat. Will you come to my house and makeover my wardrobe?!
I totally agree about dresses! I love the fact that they are versatile and allow me to be girly. My husband loves me in dresses, and they are a huge budget saver since I do what you do and figure out ways to wear them year round. I highly recommend sweater tights for the winter… they’re thicker and can have some cute cable designs in them, and are perfect worn with a summer weight dress, boots and a cardigan.
Great fun post! I have a lot of dresses I could do this too but just hadn’t thought of it! Thanks chick!!! 🙂

You are so stinkin’ cute! : ) I love your cute dresses and wish I had some! I don’t have any dresses I can wear. I mean, NONE. How sad is that? There are some skirts and tops, but no dresses. I think I need to go thrifting. : )
Wow, great job changing up the looks on your dresses so much! That’s awesome, I love it!
you’re so beautiful, mama. Will you do a hair tutorial? It’s always so pretty! 😀
I like the way you wear dresses! I wear dresses and skirts alot, too. I’m having a Modest & Marvelous Link Party, if you’d like to join in!
Erin, I love this post! Dresses are definitely fun, and I love how you’ve shown their versatility. 🙂 Great job, girl!
you’ve got a great dress collection!
Blessings!

Dresses are great they can be worn all year long.
Winter just add tights and boot and can even add a long sleave shirt under.
I love the look of the yellow dress! Bright and Summery =)
So many great outfits here!

I love all of your cute outfits! I was just thinking this morning (as I put on my $12 dress from Target) how versatile it was because I just add some cute jewelry and I felt like I looked put together! It’s actually easier than throwing on workout shorts and a t-shirt, isn’t it?
I need to get a denim jacket!
It may not be too late for your black tank dress. Try putting Lestoil on the grease stains. Works like a charm, every time. You may need to test the fabric first and the smell is pretty strong but it works.
I love dresses. I’ve been wearing dresses and skirts a lot lately, and love doing what you do to change them up. 🙂 Great post. 🙂
I’m new to your blog. I found you through Courtney at Women Living Well. I rarely wear dresses now that I’m a stay at home Mom. And I sometimes miss dressing up and looking cute! I will definitely have to go through my current wardrobe of dresses to see what I can do to wear them year round. And perhaps hit a sale or two to get some fun new dresses on the cheap. I love that you can just throw on a dress versus having to make sure the top that goes with your skirt is clean etc. And if I can have go-to accessories lined up to wear with my dresses that will be a big help.
For the grease, I have two messy eaters, who constantly get greasy food on their shirts. After I notice the stains, which is of course after they are washed and dryed, I treat them with Dawn hand dishwashing detergent and re-wash them. It usually comes out in one wash, but some require two. Much better than throwing away the shirts. I find Lestoil leaves too strong an odor. Hope it works. Thanks for your cute ideas! (I came to you by way of Courtney at Women Living Well)
You are right…. pants under dresses or skirts doesn’t work. Show them leggs!
I love pants or leggings under skirts and dresses when the weather is right! It changes the whole look which is fun!
